The Pantry Underwear

The Pantry Underwear

Every once in awhile you come across a shop that changes your life, as dramatic as it sounds it’s very true. lol. Ok, picture this, a calm and stylish lingerie shop with all the perks of a boutique, a selection of great brands, established and independent, all under one roof with the prices of a department store. Are you impressed yet? Well, there’s more, with sizes ranging from AA – HH / 28 – 44, they offer fitting services, bridal appointments and ‘Pant Parties’ lol (keep reading I’ll explain ) what more could you ask for?

Eloise Rigby had the vision to create a cool, modern, space a one stop shop for the locals and beyond. The Pantry Underwear can be found on the cobbled street of Camden Passage, it’s about 3 minutes walk from Angel tube station. The original storefront and layout of the shop have been kept to reflect the history of the area, it is often a talking point of the shop. A clean cut cork table displaying lace underwear, Calvin Klein minimalist worthy enough for an Instagram flat lay. The merchandise also includes lesser known British brands that I’d probably not have known about had I not been in the store. Unique, great brands that don’t cost an arm and a leg adding further to the boutique cool factor.

This affordable price point paired with Eloise’s commitment to truly cater for all shapes and sizes are what places her at the top among the bigger more overpriced underwear boutiques. The lack of affordable underwear available on most community high streets is what inspired Eloise to set up The Pantry Underwear.

‘Since opening, I’ve been reminded about just how complicated and daunting underwear shopping can be for women’ explains Eloise. ‘Our fitting service is great and our average bra price is below that of most independent underwear shops, yet we never comprise on quality.’

For Eloise, actions speak louder than words, so when she says she wants to make her mark in the community she means it. ‘We run a ‘Pant Party’ where the guests get complimentary fizz and 10 per cent off in store, and we’ve recently launched Yoga Tuesdays for women in the area’

This is a great shop and Eloise is the loveliest, if you’re in the area or better if you live in the area drop by check out the different brands I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Hope you’ve enjoyed reading up on my discovery. Please look out for a competition on my Instagram page coming up real soon.

#RitaColson2017 – The Press Launch

Hello lovelies, so I’ve had time to ‘rest’ recuperate and ready for the next thing. If I’m honest I was ready for the next thing even before the launch ended I already had in place my next move. I love what I do and because of that it’s never ‘work’ I honestly find it very difficult to switch my creative antennas off. I might have a problem…lol My reason for this is I don’t want to miss anything, I want to be fully present.

My debut collection was launched to a VIP audience with leading wedding and fashion industry press and guests at RSA House on Friday 24th March. The launch was produced and hosted by Director of Nu Bride and renowned wedding expert Nova Reid, as part of her Nu Bride Presents series; showcasing progressive brands with inclusive diversity at the core of their work.

The guests were treated to a vibrant, creative and inclusive catwalk show that captured the essence of the collection. I love having contrast in my work and this case the juxtaposition was on tradition with a modern twist. Celebrating the nostalgia of tradition whilst embracing creativity and style. The collection was accessorised by Kelly Spence and Charlotte Mills Bridal, a beautiful showcased of diverse models, to the elegant sound of sensational classical classic opera singer Abigail Broughton complemented by contemporary dancer Jermaine Joseph's powerful opening performance to Casta Diva. The fusion of live music and dance visibly moved guests and included opera classics Summertime and Mio Bambino Caro, encapsulating my love of art, music, dance and creativity. Gorrrrrgeous!!!!  🙂

The Tavern Room at the RSA House was the perfect backdrop for the launch, just a stone's throw off the Strand, and round the corner from The Savoy, this was truly stuff that dreams are made of. The Georgian style of the building was perfectly complemented by extravagant floral displays, candles and traditional white seating. Spring flowers were used ranunculus, hellebores, 'White O'Hara' and 'Patience' garden roses were dotted in the bouquets as well as the seating and trailing fireplace floral displays. It was extremely elegant and fresh; and of course behind every successful production there are an exceptional team that put everything together. I was blessed to work with an amazing team of UK wedding industry suppliers, Matt Maurice Events, Over The Top Rentals, HK Hair Artist, Joyce Connor MUA, De Winton Paper Co, featuring show - stopping flowers by Miriam Faith Flowers. The event was captured by Fine Art photographer Cecilia Photography and Urban Cinematography.

Military Chic

Military Chic

Happy New Year!!! I know I know where have I been, It’s almost the end of the month.

Well….where do I begin? The new year has started with lots of changes in my life but I’m not complaining as they’re great changes which I will most definitely be blogging about. How’s 2017 treating you so far? It has been quite a strange start, I feel like we should all go back and watch the Simpsons to see if there are clues on how the next 4 years will be. Anyhoo I’m not even going to get into that conversation, this is an orange free zone..’no pun’ intended lol.

Despite what’s going on in the world there’s always a silver lining in the clouds and for me having the chicest, most stylish winter coat always makes my day. This season the great online high street has not disappointed. There are so many varieties from pastel pinks to faux fur to my favourite the ‘Military Chic’. You can never go wrong with a good military coat, it looks well tailored due to the tapered waist and squared shoulders. It never fails in making me feel smart, strong and ultra chic; especially when teamed with a girly dress. It’s all in the shoulders, never underestimate a good shoulder. Lol

Here are some great examples of Military inspired coats.

An Evening of Beauty with Farfetch at the London Make up School

An Evening of Beauty with Farfetch at the London Make up School

Farfetch has already secured itself as an established high end fashion and accessories online boutique, so it wasn’t a surprise when earlier this year they launched a beauty section on their site introducing luxury brands such as Chantecaille, Eve Lom, and By Terry from SpaceNK. I was very pleased to be invited to an evening of make up, food and mingling with other beauty bloggers. For their years of experience in high end fashion Farfetch were more than equipped to talk us through the connection between catwalk trends and make up. In comparison also recognised for its progressive, cutting edge training methods the London MakeUp School is the place to learn and gain understanding of latest trends and techniques.

Best Beauty Looks for SS16

There are four key looks that have emerged from the catwalks this season: Bold Blush, Au Naturale and Loud Lips. These looks were all recreated by one of the tutors from The London MakeUp School on two different models. My favourite in the four were the Au Naturale or in other words ‘ I woke up like this’,  this look was dewy, fresh ‘glowing’ skin. In all four looks the emphasis on preparing the skin was highlighted. Cleansing and moisturising the skin was key as that determined how well the finished look would be achieved. As you know trends come and go but great skin never goes out of style.

Here are the examples Farfetch put together as the key beauty looks for SS16

How to get the look - Au Naturale

Reaching for the highlighting concealers, brightening primers and soft blushers to pull off a similarly immaculate look. Eve Lom Flawless Primer  with SPF 30 will illuminate your complexion while By Terry's  concealer will give natural radiance to your skin's contours.

Au Naturale ( 'I woke up like this' ) This look was a 'no make up' make up look taken from Chloe, which to create used a number of different products. - Eve Lom Flawless Primer  | By Terry's

How to get the look - Eccentric Eye Art

Escape to faraway climes with similar styles by painting on peachy powders from By Terry  | choose earthy tones from Becca  to capture an organic and rustic look that imitates Papua New Guinean jungle tribes.

Eccentric Eye Art - This eye look is taken from the Chanel catwalk, the actual look was almost connected over the nose but the make up artist made it more wearable. 'we're not going for the mono brow look' Lol By Terry  | Becca

How to get the look - Bold Blush

Select Becca  brilliant Beach Tint in succulent Guava shades to add a delectable definition to your cheekbones that will work perfectly for the beach beach beauty look, or pick up Kevyn Auction's Tropical Nights Bronzer for a sublimely sun-drenched glow.

How to get the look - Loud Lips

For a similarly star- studded style, reach for The Metals range of lipsticks at Space NK, or head for luscious coral and sweet papaya hues from The Lipstick Queen Jungle if you prefer Mui Mui's more sub-tropic flavour

I had a wonderful time at the event I loved how Farfetch creatively linked their knowledge and love of high fashion with their new found place in the luxury beauty world I cannot wait for their next event. In the meantime follow the links on the products shown and check out the site.
