The Pantry Underwear

The Pantry Underwear

Every once in awhile you come across a shop that changes your life, as dramatic as it sounds it’s very true. lol. Ok, picture this, a calm and stylish lingerie shop with all the perks of a boutique, a selection of great brands, established and independent, all under one roof with the prices of a department store. Are you impressed yet? Well, there’s more, with sizes ranging from AA – HH / 28 – 44, they offer fitting services, bridal appointments and ‘Pant Parties’ lol (keep reading I’ll explain ) what more could you ask for?

Eloise Rigby had the vision to create a cool, modern, space a one stop shop for the locals and beyond. The Pantry Underwear can be found on the cobbled street of Camden Passage, it’s about 3 minutes walk from Angel tube station. The original storefront and layout of the shop have been kept to reflect the history of the area, it is often a talking point of the shop. A clean cut cork table displaying lace underwear, Calvin Klein minimalist worthy enough for an Instagram flat lay. The merchandise also includes lesser known British brands that I’d probably not have known about had I not been in the store. Unique, great brands that don’t cost an arm and a leg adding further to the boutique cool factor.

This affordable price point paired with Eloise’s commitment to truly cater for all shapes and sizes are what places her at the top among the bigger more overpriced underwear boutiques. The lack of affordable underwear available on most community high streets is what inspired Eloise to set up The Pantry Underwear.

‘Since opening, I’ve been reminded about just how complicated and daunting underwear shopping can be for women’ explains Eloise. ‘Our fitting service is great and our average bra price is below that of most independent underwear shops, yet we never comprise on quality.’

For Eloise, actions speak louder than words, so when she says she wants to make her mark in the community she means it. ‘We run a ‘Pant Party’ where the guests get complimentary fizz and 10 per cent off in store, and we’ve recently launched Yoga Tuesdays for women in the area’

This is a great shop and Eloise is the loveliest, if you’re in the area or better if you live in the area drop by check out the different brands I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Hope you’ve enjoyed reading up on my discovery. Please look out for a competition on my Instagram page coming up real soon.

Midi Skirts for Petites

Midi Skirts for Petites

The Midi skirt is everywhere at the moment and it’s in a variety of shapes and forms; tubes, a- lines, low hems, peplums, full volumes, in knits, tulles, woven, neoprene and leathers. The styles and styling options are endless, between the contemporary, romantic, vintage, high-low and everyday looks.

Midi skirts are one of the many styling options shorter women are constantly told to avoid. But honestly, rules are made to be broken, especially a rule as dated as this one. A full skirt like the one I’m wearing in this picture would traditionally overwhelm a diminutive figure like mine. Instead, I worked with the silhouette to my advantage and delivered a polished ‘effortless’ look.

On that note here are my favourite midis, from tea-length skirts to sexy slit silhouettes, that work for petite frames. (click on the links)

– Go for an A-Line – This should definitely be a go to for all Petites! The mesh-like fabric is longer than the lining which gives the illusion of longer legs. Remember to choose a higher waist to create even longer legs!!!!  At £25.00 you can’t go wrong.

– Wrap it up – It’s always best to have fabric cling on to you and wrap midi skirt naturally shapes your figure in all the right places without letting anything drag. I love the colour on this one gorgeous!!

– Sexy slit – If you got it, flaunt it but not too much there’s a thin line between classy and trashy when it comes to slits. Lol. Elongate your legs with high and low slits. Remember to keep it CLASSY!! x

– The Classic Pencil Skirt – Always a flattering option that shows off your curves. Invest in a black staple piece, but switch things up with pastel hues, leather or sheer fabrics. Zara has a couple of leather Pencil Skirts this season check it out. If you’re going to do leather pencil skirt remember to break it up a little. Do not wear a leather skirt, with leather knee high boots and leather jacket, unless if you’re going for the Matrix look! Eeeeeeeek!

Thanks for stopping by would love for you to stay. Don’t forget to comment.

Halfpenny at the Ritz

Halfpenny at the Ritz

The sound of champagne flutes clicking, canopes,  an uproar of laughter followed by ‘sweetie darling’ all on a tuesday night. Held at Ritz London it was a glamorous affair hosted by Brides magazine. With make up by Laura Mercier,  Jimmy Choo heels, divine headpieces from Tilly Thomas Lux and flowers by the incredible Paul Thomas team this was a dream and the main event hadn’t even started.

The main event was held in a separate room with the most stunning staircase draped in beautiful flowers as a back drop, the models flowed and cascaded down wearing the british made signature designs of Kate Halfpenny.

Kate creates breath taking vintage inspired gowns her designs are so incredibly versatile and varied, few designers can truly offer something for every bride: from a traditional tule ball gown to modern silk sheath to fanciful feathers, Kate does it all I loved each and every dress more than the last. Impeccable styling Kate weaves ‘Brit cool’ with vintage inspiration to create truly stunning modern wedding dresses and bridal wear. She brings creativity, and versatility to her collection, knowing that carefully crafted and interchangeable elements will work for every woman.

Take a look for yourself and as always I love hearing from you tell me what you think.

Love always
